Back in the spring Jamie and I had been discussing the need to get some of the local artists / musicians together so we could meet and perhaps collaborate for future venues or special occasions, and, above all, just to have some fun! One thing led to another, and suddenly "Jam In The Park" is reality! It was fun for everyone, and even though there were some technical difficulties, and an awfully strong wind, everyone had a good time, and performers had a chance to show off a little.

There were lots of people taking pictures, and so did we. Here are some Gena and I took from the video, which will be on youtube pending everyone's permission (which could take a while hehe)  So if you missed the show, or forgot ( haha) then this page will give you a peek!

Once everyone filled up at the concession, we were ready to jam (We can't count playing by myself as jamming...right?). So here's the crew on stage:

Jamie: "Is this mic on? Test test.."
Doby: "Is there any sheet for this song??"
Steve: "This sounds just great!"
Peter: "My amp IS loud enough! Really it is..."
Sandy: "I hope nobody trips over all those cords..."

I know you can't see it in a picture, but the wind kept blowing the pages across our books, and here I thought I was smart bringing a clothes peg?

Should've brought 2, one for the top, the other for the bottom!   It did calm down some as the evening progressed.

I don't really remember making this face, but it was probably like "Are we going to try Happy Man again or what?" ...

That song just didn't want to be played that night. Too bad too because I/we really like that one!

This is Chelsea and Dale along with Doby & Steve. They sounded really great together, can't wait to get that video snip posted! The woman in green is one of the "Jessicas" a band of 7. Awsome you guys!!

<<< Jamie didn't have time to play "The Moonlight Sonata" because
A) His keyboard suddenly got a mind of it's own and started embellishing the string section, and
B) It wasn't dark enough for a moon yet!

In any case the bugs were ironed out, and we all learned a bit about hooking mixers to other mixers and other things unpredictably getting hooked to those while we're off getting a coffee etc.

>>>Doby was his usual encouraging self and did a funny little ditty on the guitar that was quite entertaining for all. Thankyou Doby!

The Fab 3! 1,2...er 3 yep,  there I am!  I should've tried to move in a little closer as I felt like an outer planet in the solar system over there. And we all know what happed to Pluto!
   You've heard of dueling banjos?
Well this is dueling gitters! I'm not sure who had the advantage, Peter with his amp turned right down, or myself, with only the effects turned on in channel strip 4. (Thanks, who-ever moved that plug over!)

Looks like the lighting did come in handy after all. It usually is dark at 9PM I kept saying. Nobody stopped me which is good.

As the sun set lower and lower into the Pacific, I added as a last song, the anthem-to-be here, "Texada"

I don't remember if there was applause, maybe everyone had left..

If a singer sings in the forest, and nobody heard, did she even make a sound?

You bet!

Cheers all, and thankyou all for coming!
