Installation instructions

....

Installation has been made fairly simple by including the dual header PSU ribbon. The end header plug is for the Flash-8, while the inner plug is for the Reflex.
First, if the MIDI patch cord was supplied by us, the MIDI IN jumper configuration will be "1" as shown in the image .

If not, you may need to switch the jumpers around if MIDI won't work.

(1)
Remove the small Digital board from the Reflex LiveLoop by wiggling left & right. Be careful not to bend the pins.

**  Remove the little jumper on the end of the header
This is no longer required as the Flash-8 has it's own jumper

(2)
Align the Flash-8 over the 30-pin Header and lightly seat it, making sure the PSU header for the Reflex's 16 pin box header appears aligned before pressing it down.

It's hard to see in the photo, but it should be centered, so visually check it before forcing the plug in. The ribbon to the Reflex after will easily line-up so if it doesn't then the board is probably off center.

(3)
Insert the dual  PSU ribbon's end  plug into the box header of the Flash-8 board (not shown)

(4)
Plug the small digital Board back on to the Reflex mother board. Be certain that both arrows are visible, and the inter-board connector pins are aligned on both ends.

This is very important as even though misalignments have been tested, bad things happen when pins are not where they are supposed to be!

(5)
Plug the remaining midpoint header plug into the Reflex PSU box header.

The installation should appear the same as in these photos.

Before applying power, give it the once-over check to make sure everything is aligned nicely, then fire everything up.

To check that the installation is being recognized by the Reflex, you must first have installed the firmware update V.2.00

If you purchased your Reflex LiveLoop with the Flash-8 board installed, then you won't need to do this update, but it's a good idea to check that your version is current. . .Usually the Version number is written on the USB jack "V.2.00"

*Remember that this is a CORE update so on power-up (or after upload) the LED circle will flash 25 times. Press REC + PLAY buttons to core update. The Flash-8 will not work other wise.

To test your installation, power up the Reflex, press and hold the EQ button until the LED Circle flashes all on.
The 8th LED in the circle should be faintly flashing, so dial the Rate control to select it and tap the Play button to load that slot, # 8.

At this point you should be hearing the demo.

If you are unable to enter into Flash-8 mode at all, check that after the Firmware upload, you pressed  the REC & PLAY buttons together  to update the core of the Reflex.  This must be done immediately after uploading or after a power-up when the LED circle is flashing.
