Skookum  AUDIO Switch

This switchbox is a pretty simple little thing but is so required at the radio station/studio desk that a wirey mess of plugs hanging everywhere would result otherwise.
The requirements are as follows:

The Edirol FA-66 audio box only has 2 line level analogue inputs on the back. All of the rest a SPDIF, MIDI,  and optical, which may be used later. Because the PC will be used for recording music and inputs from the ham rig & WXsat, as well as outputs to be transmitted from the TNC or PC, this switch is absolutely required for ease of operation.

Circuit description:
The rotary  switch selects the Keyboard inputs, the Ham Rig ( both L&R to mono ), the WXsat reciever input ( same to L&R) and an external I will be using for whatever. The switch is a 4 pole so I doubled up on the left channel and used the remaining for LEDs, just to look cool. (These are powered by the USB hub  9volt via red terminal.)

The toggle switch is a 3 position ( center off) to select what will be transmitted besides my golden tones on the mike. The PC input can be used for PC sound card style RTTY, DTMF for echo-link, SSTV and other non TNC communications software. The TNC's output will be on the other side.

The only problem so far is that JVcomm, an SSTV program I have always used, doesn't like the Edirol FA-66. I had to connect the SSTV (TX) Input from the PC's onboard AC-97 output, and I ran the mic input on the PC from the ham radio not through this switch. That is all inside the SSTV RS-232 interface box. So far so good!

I hope I haven't forgotten anything that would require a 5 position switch! One day I am going to attempt to draw out a diagram of all of the electrical systems at my desk. That will be posted in pro32.htm under the giant interactive electrical flash, or possibly at  pro29.htm under "Studio Desk".  These diagrams are not so much for you the reader, as for us the forgetful!
